Premadasa thanked citizens for supporting the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) amid a hostile campaign environment marked by slander, threats, and conspiracies.
He noted that the recent local government election results signal public dissatisfaction with the ruling government, which has seen its popularity decline sharply within six months of securing a strong mandate.
He said voters had chosen sincerity and service over falsehoods. Premadasa pledged that the SJB is ready to lead a united opposition committed to transparent, democratic, and policy-driven governance.
