Tilvin Silva Hails LG Election Victory as Mandate for Change

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva has hailed the party’s victory in the local government elections as a clear mandate from the people to steer the country in a new direction.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Silva stated that the election results reflect the renewed trust placed by the public in the party symbol, the Compass, to lead Sri Lanka forward. He added that the people have provided the JVP and its alliance with a crucial opportunity to implement development plans aimed at revitalizing rural areas through a fresh political culture.

“We will not betray the trust the people have placed in us,” Silva emphasized, promising a transparent and accountable approach to governance at the grassroots level.

The JVP’s strong performance is being seen as a sign of growing public support for alternative political forces amid widespread demand for reform and development.
