EC urges voters to follow ballot guidelines

The Chairman stressed that voters must not write, draw, or scribble anything on the ballot paper. “Any additional markings or notes will result in the ballot being rejected,” he warned.

In a bid to ensure maximum participation, Ratnayake also informed the public that voters who have not yet received their official ballot papers can still collect them from their local post offices on election day (May 6). Alternatively, ballot papers can be downloaded directly from the official election website.

The Election Commission urges all citizens to follow these guidelines carefully to ensure their votes are valid and counted.
