Main Suspect in ‘Club Wasantha’ Killing, ‘Loku Pattie Brought Back to Sri Lanka

Sujeewa Ruwankumara De Silva, widely known by his underworld alias ‘Loku Pattie’, has been brought back to Sri Lanka today under the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He is the prime suspect in the high-profile murder of nightclub owner ‘Club Wasantha’ in Athurugiriya.

‘Loku Pattie’, a notorious figure linked to several criminal cases, was arrested in Belarus in August last year following an international manhunt. After months of legal procedures, Sri Lankan authorities coordinated with international counterparts to facilitate his extradition.

He arrived in Sri Lanka this morning on a flight operated by a private airline via Dubai. The CID has now taken him into custody for further questioning related to multiple criminal investigations, including the targeted killing of ‘Club Wasantha’, which shocked the country due to its audacity and alleged links to organized crime.
