One dead, another Injured in Meetiyagoda restaurant shooting

The shooting took place inside a restaurant located in the Thambahitiya area of Meetiyagoda. Witnesses reported that two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the victims before fleeing the scene.

One of the victims died on the spot due to gunshot injuries, while the other sustained critical wounds and was rushed to Balapitiya Hospital for emergency treatment.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are conducting further investigations to determine the motive behind the attack.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of next of kin.
