Campaigning ends tonight ahead of May 6 LG Elections

 With voting set to take place on May 6, political parties and independent candidates made their final appeals to voters today through rallies, door-to-door visits, and media appearances. After midnight, no public meetings, advertisements, or political activities will be allowed, ensuring voters have a quiet period to reflect before casting their ballots.

The Election Commission has warned of strict action against any violations during this pre-poll silence period, including fines and disqualification of candidates if necessary.

Authorities have also confirmed that security arrangements and logistical preparations are in place to ensure a smooth and fair election process.

Voter turnout is expected to be significant as local issues like water supply, sanitation, infrastructure, and public services dominate the campaign narrative.

Polling will begin at 7:00 AM on Monday, May 6, and continue until 6:00 PM.
