In a proactive move to curb the rising number of road accidents, a high-level meeting was held at the Presidential Secretariat under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' initiative. The discussion focused on developing a comprehensive national strategy to address the alarming increase in road-related fatalities and injuries.

Key stakeholders, including representatives from the Insurance Regulatory Commission, National Council for Road Safety, and the Ministries of Health and Mass Media, joined forces with leading health professionals and senior police officials.

Experts such as Dr. Indika Jagoda from the National Hospital and Professors Sivakumar and H.R. Pasidu from the University of Moratuwa emphasized the need for public education and disciplined road behavior.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote social responsibility, environmental consciousness, and ethical conduct, highlighting the government's commitment to building a safer and more responsible society.
