The University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that the official university admission manual, based on the recently released GCE Advanced Level Examination results, will be published today. This marks the beginning of the 2025 university admission cycle.

According to the UGC, online registration for university admission is scheduled to commence next week, allowing eligible students to apply for enrollment in undergraduate degree programs across the country.

A total of 43,300 students are expected to be admitted to state universities this year, offering a wide range of academic opportunities to successful A/L candidates.

The UGC also revealed the introduction of a new undergraduate degree program at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. The new program aims to expand academic offerings in traditional and indigenous medical sciences, strengthening the university’s role in promoting holistic and culturally rooted healthcare education.
