According to police sources, the accident took place under unclear circumstances and caused significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured were transported to Hingurakgoda and Polonnaruwa hospitals for treatment.
Hospital officials confirmed that while some of the injured sustained minor wounds, several are being treated for more serious injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
