Viraj Dayaratne appointed as acting Attorney General

The appointment comes as Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe is currently on an official visit to India. In his absence, Dayaratne will oversee the duties and responsibilities of the Attorney General's Department.

Viraj Dayaratne, a senior legal officer and respected figure in the legal fraternity, previously served in multiple high-profile roles within the department and is known for his expertise in constitutional and public law.

His temporary appointment is expected to ensure the continued smooth functioning of the department until AG Ranasinghe returns from his official engagements abroad.
