The terminal, now equipped with a state-of-the-art Granty crane group featuring cutting-edge technological solutions, demonstrated its capability to manage ultra-large container vessels efficiently and safely.
“This historic arrival not only reflects the growth and modernization of Sri Lanka’s port infrastructure but also positions the Port of Colombo as a key hub in the global maritime logistics network,” the SLPA stated.
The successful docking and operation of the MSC MARIELLA underscore Sri Lanka’s strategic importance in international shipping lanes and its growing potential as a premier transshipment and logistics hub in the South Asian region.
