A 35-year-old man was killed and another individual injured in a shooting incident that occurred during a party at a residence in Hirana, Panadura, last night.
According to police, two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a T-56 assault rifle before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the attack is yet to be determined.
The injured individual has been admitted to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment. Police say the assailants targeted the victims during the gathering, causing panic among attendees.
Hirana Police have launched a full investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.
