Acting Auditor General granted 30-Day service extension

Mr. G.H.D. Dharmapala, who was appointed as the Acting Auditor General, has been granted a 30-day extension of service, following the approval of the Constitutional Council.

Mr. Dharmapala initially assumed duties for a 14-day period to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of former Auditor General Chulantha Wickramanayake. With the extension, Mr. Dharmapala will continue in the role as the government proceeds with the process of appointing a permanent successor.
