The Department of Meteorology says that Showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central Uva, Eastern, Northern and North-central provinces.
Showers or thundershowers may occur in Western province and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts in the morning too.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Ampara district during the morning.

Winds will be Westerly or South-westerly and wind speed will be (25-35)kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar. |

The sea areas off the coasts extending fromPuttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island can be slight to moderate. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. |
