The Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo has issued a warning about fake social media advertisements claiming to sell unclaimed luggage at the airport in Katunayake.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the BIA revealed that several unofficial social media pages and websites are impersonating the airport to promote these false advertisements.
The BIA clarified that these claims are entirely untrue and not supported by Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd. “We urge everyone to be cautious when responding to such advertisements and to report pages promoting such scams,” the statement read.
The airport further advised the public to follow only its official social media channels for reliable updates.
