The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has implemented immediate transfers for several magistrates in a reshuffling within the judiciary. Justice Thilina Gamage, previously serving as the Chief Magistrate of Colombo, has been appointed as the District Judge of Moratuwa. Meanwhile, Justice Tanuja Lakmali, who was serving as the Fort Magistrate, has been promoted to the position of Chief Magistrate of Colombo.
In addition, Justice Nilupuli Lankapura has been transferred to take over as the Fort Magistrate. The JSC has also announced that Justice Chathurika De Silva, who was the Moratuwa District Judge, has now been appointed as the Magistrate of Mt. Lavinia.
These changes come into effect immediately, signaling a significant reshuffling within the judicial system.
