The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a brother of former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara in connection with an alleged financial fraud related to foreign employment.
The arrest took place in the Bibile area following a complaint about a scam promising employment opportunities in Finland.
According to the police, the suspect reportedly demanded Rs. 4 million from victims and collected Rs. 3 million under the false pretense of securing jobs abroad.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect is set to be presented before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (December 29).
