The police have launched a special traffic operation during the festive season to reduce road accidents across the country.

This operation focuses mainly on long-distance bus drivers who violate traffic rules or drive recklessly. Officers in civilian clothing are being deployed to monitor violations such as reckless driving, using mobile phones while driving, overtaking at pedestrian crossings, and speeding.

Buses found violating these rules will be stopped at designated points by uniformed officers, who will inform the drivers of the offenses and take legal action against them.

The police stated that these operations will continue to ensure the safety of passengers during the festive period.
