A progress review meeting of the committee responsible for addressing the welfare of families of fallen war veterans and disabled veterans was held yesterday ( December 26), chaired by Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), at his office.

The meeting focused on identifying ongoing challenges faced by these families and emphasized the need for a systematic approach to provide effective solutions. The committee highlighted its commitment to addressing long-standing issues and ensuring timely support for unmet needs.

Established under the directives of the Deputy Minister, the committee which  lead by the Additional Secretary of Defence and includes the Chairman of the Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA), Tri-Forces directors, and other key officials. Its objective is to implement a structured and collaborative process that prioritizes the welfare of veterans and their families, aiming for impactful and sustainable outcomes.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of delivering prompt assistance and support to those who have sacrificed for the nation, ensuring their families are well-cared for and their challenges are addressed effectively.
