The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, holds great significance as the place where Lord Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment. This visit highlights the cultural and religious ties between Sri Lanka and India.
President Dissanayake’s visit to the temple was part of his broader agenda to strengthen bilateral relations during his three-day visit.
