A 120 MW wind power plant is set to be established in Sampur with financial assistance from India.
The project will be a collaborative effort between the Central Electricity Authority of India and the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Professor Udayanga Hemapala, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, stated that the agreement for the project will be signed after President Anura Kumara Dissanayake returns from his official visit to India. The President is scheduled to visit India from December 15 to 17, marking his first overseas trip since assuming office.
