India's Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, arrived in Sri Lanka (October 4) on an official visit, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar will pay courtesy calls on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

He is also scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath. This marks the first foreign ministerial visit to Sri Lanka since the new government took office last week, highlighting the strong partnership between the two nations.
