The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution to address pension anomalies affecting retired government officers.
The Department of Government Information (DGI) announced that these anomalies arose due to various policy decisions and periodic salary revisions by the government.
The affected pensioners are primarily those who retired between January 1, 2016, and January 1, 2020. Approximately 83,000 retired government officials are expected to benefit from this corrective measure.
The resolution, presented by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies, aims to revise the pensions of these retirees. The adjustment will provide an increase of up to Rs. 2,500, in accordance with Schedule No. I of Public Administration Circular No. 03/2016 dated February 25, 2016.
