Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited has announced new measures to streamline vehicle parking outside the arrival terminal at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake. Effective immediately, unattended vehicles are prohibited from parking in this area. Vehicles arriving to pick up passengers must wait in the designated car park and only approach the arrival terminal at the scheduled pickup time.
Additionally, vehicles parked for more than 30 minutes, even if attended by a driver, will incur an extra fee to alleviate traffic congestion. This initiative aims to control the influx of unauthorized vehicles and individuals at the airport premises, ensuring smoother traffic flow and enhanced security.
