The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its deepest condolences following the sudden passing of Jean-François Pactet, the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
In a statement, the Ministry assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to the French authorities and the family of the late Ambassador during this difficult time.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs learns with deepest sorrow of the sudden demise of His Excellency Jean-François Pactet, Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives," the statement read.
"The Ministry is in close coordination with the French Embassy in Sri Lanka at this time of grief."
Details regarding the funeral arrangements will be announced by the authorities in due course, according to the Ministry’s statement.
