Troops from the 8th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 611th Infantry Brigade successfully rescued a university student who had fallen down the treacherous slopes of Alagalla Mountain in Kegalle.
The incident occurred when a group of 10 students from the University of Wayaba, who were on a night camp excursion on March 9th, encountered an unforeseen mishap. One of the students had fallen down a steep cliff, sustaining severe injuries.
Upon receiving the report, troops from the 8th SLSR swiftly mobilized to the location of the accident. They promptly provided necessary medical assistance and stabilized the student's condition. The rescued student was then transferred to Mawanella Hospital for further medical treatment.
