The Labour and Foreign Employment Ministry revealed a notable surge in remittance inflows to the country from expatriate workers.
According to the ministry's data, expatriates sent a total of USD 476.4 million to their home country in February, indicating a substantial 14 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
The ministry further disclosed that over the past period, a significant sum of USD 9691.4 million has been remitted to the country by expatriate workers. This substantial flow of funds underscores the vital role played by overseas workers in bolstering the national economy.
Authorities attribute the increase in remittances to the encouraging response from expatriate workers to utilize legal channels for sending money back home. The Labour and Foreign Employment Ministry has been actively promoting the use of legal remittance systems, emphasizing their reliability and transparency.
