A total of 13,666 suspects were arrested during the week-long island-wide special operation 'Yukthiya,, which covered all provinces. Of these, 717 individuals are under further investigation, subject to detention orders.
As of the conclusion of 'Yukthiya' at 12:30 am today, the police reported substantial seizures, including 9.82 kgs of heroin, 4.679 kgs of Ice, 272 kgs of cannabis, 944,651 cannabis plants, 117 kgs of Mawa, 35 kgs of Ash, 989 grams of hashish, 3 kgs of Thule, 520 grams of Kush, and 65,924 narcotic pills.
Furthermore, 174 suspects are under investigation for possessing illegal assets, while 1,097 drug addicts have been directed to rehabilitation centers.
The joint efforts of the Police Narcotics Bureau and the Special Bureau have resulted in the arrest of 1,107 suspects out of 4,665 individuals listed as Island Re-convicted Criminals. Additionally, numerous vehicles and properties acquired through illegal means by underworld criminals have been seized.
