President appoints ministry secretaries and chief secretaries

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed ten new ministry secretaries and two Chief Secretaries today.

The President's Media Division said that their appointments will be effective from January 1, 2024.

The newly appointed officials are as follows:

1. A.C. Mohammad Nafeel - Secretary, Ministry of Water Supply & Estate Infrastructure.

2. W.P.P. Yasaratne - Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government.

3. Saman Darshana Pandikorala - Secretary, Ministry of Irrigation.

4. Mrs. Wasantha Perera - Secretary, Ministry of Education.

5. M.N. Ranasinghe - Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Prisons & Constitutional Reforms.

6. Gunadasa Samarasinghe - Secretary, Ministry of Wildlife & Forest Resources Conservation.

7. B.K.P. Chandrakeerthi - Secretary to the Ministry of Environment

8. Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena - Secretary, Ministry of Power and Energy

9. Eng. Ranjith Rubasinghe - Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Highways

10.Dr. Dharmasri Kumaratunga - Secretary, Ministry of Technology 

11. R.M.W.S. Samaradiwakara - Chief Secretary of the North Central Province 

12. Miss. S.L.D.K. Wijayasinghe - Chief Secretary of the Western Province.
