The Illegal Assets or Property Investigation Division officials have seized several properties of organized criminals and major drug traffickers known as 'Kudu Asanka,' 'Ladiya,' and 'Kudu Sriani.'

The Public Security Ministry said that the seizure was made as part of the island-wide operation 'Yukthiya.'

Accordingly, the police seized three buses, two cars, two motorcycles, four valuable plots of land, including a three-storey house, 50 pounds of gold, and 123,000 in cash, suspected to have been earned through drug trafficking.

It has been revealed that the value of the seized property and money is close to Rs. 92 million.

Meanwhile, during the special operation conducted in the past 24 hours, which ended at 12:30 am today, 2,008 suspects were arrested across the country.

During the operation, the police recovered 2 kg 400 g of heroin, 1.2 kg of ice, 12.2 kg of cannabis, 73,833 cannabis plants, 5.2 kg of Mawa, and 17,054 drug pills.

Police stated that 185 suspects among the 2,008 arrested are being investigated based on detention orders.

Additionally, asset investigations have been initiated in relation to 33 suspects, and 209 people have been referred for rehabilitation.
