The Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera, has instructed the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to withhold all bonuses and allowances for its employees in the year 2023.
The minister has further directed the discontinuation of the 25% salary increment, a practice upheld every three years since 2015.
Announcing this decision on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Minister Wijesekera emphasized that this move is part of a broader initiative to curtail operational and administrative costs within the CEB.
