Sri Lanka is set to establish specialized training and resource centers aimed at catering to the needs of individuals seeking employment opportunities abroad. Cabinet approval has been granted to a proposal that outlines the creation of Training and Emigration Resource Centers in the regions of Jaffna, Homagama, and Ampara.
The initiative is a response to the current practice where the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) conducts destination-specific training programs for foreign job seekers in various locations across the island, often utilizing rented facilities with limited resources.
In a move to enhance the quality and accessibility of training programs, the Cabinet of Ministers has given the green light to a proposal presented by the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment.
This approval signifies the establishment of dedicated foreign employment training centers in Jaffna, Homagama, and Ampara Districts, which will operate under the auspices of the Foreign Employment Bureau. These centers will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive training to individuals preparing for overseas employment opportunities.
