A shooting incident reported in Walpola, Ragama last night resulting in injuries to three individuals, Police said.
They said the assailant, an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle, targeted a residence in Walpola, firing upon its occupants.
According to the police, the assailant forcibly entered a house in Walpola before discharging a firearm. Among the victims are a 17-year-old boy and a woman. The injured have been promptly admitted to Ragama Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Ragama Police is pursuing investigations into the incident to ascertain the motive behind the attack and to apprehend the assailant.
