The recent social media image featuring Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva and his spouse aboard a special jet has been clarified. General Silva's travel from Delhi to Dehradun was facilitated by the Indian Air Force, who provided the jet for his attendance as the Chief Guest at the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA).
During his official visit to Delhi, General Silva was granted the uncommon privilege of being invited as the Chief Guest for the event. Upon his arrival in Delhi, he was provided with the opportunity to travel to Dehradun on board the jet.
This privilege was extended to General Silva in accordance with the standard protocol for VIPs, with the Indian Air Force ensuring his seamless travel to participate in the Passing Out Parade at the renowned Indian Military Academy.
On December 9, 2023, General Silva received a warm welcome from Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar AVSM, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Western Command, along with the Commandant of IMA, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra AVSM.
