Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, Harin Fernando, has announced that a new Selection Committee will be appointed for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
The committee will be led by former Sri Lankan cricketer Upul Tharanga.
However, the minister did not provide details about the other members of the committee or the exact date of their appointment.
Currently, the Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket is chaired by ex-cricketer Pramodya Wickramasinghe, who was appointed in April 2021 by former Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa.
The committee also includes Romesh Kaluwitharana, Hemantha Wickramaratne, Varuna Waragoda, S. H. U Karnain, and B.A. Thilaka Nilmini Gunarathne.
