President Ranil Wickremesinghe engaged in bilateral talks with French, Brazilian Presidents and Indian Prime Minister a short while ago on the side-lines of the COP28, the President's Media Division (PMD) said.

According to the PMD, French President Emmanuel Macron and President Wickremesinghe discussed the Green Transition of Sri Lanka's economy and strengthened France's engagement with IORA. 

President Wickremesinghe also invited the French President to join the International Climate Change University initiative.

Meanwhile, President Wickremesinghe engaged in bilateral talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on the side-lines of cop28.

Wickremesinghe invited Brazil to join the Tropical Belt initiative, as this was an issue that was impacting both Sri Lanka and Brazil.

Meanwhile,  President Wickremesinghe also met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
