In a recent announcement, the National Transport Commission (NTC) has stated that despite the reduction in fuel prices, bus fares will remain unchanged.
This decision was made shortly after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) declared amendments to the fuel prices.
According to the revised rates, the fuel prices now stand as follows: Petrol 92 Octane decreased by Rs. 10 to Rs. 346, Petrol Octane 95 increased by Rs. 3 to Rs. 426, Auto Diesel decreased by Rs. 27 to Rs. 329, Super Diesel increased by Rs. 3 to Rs. 434, and Lanka Kerosene decreased by Rs. 2 to Rs. 247.
In line with CEYPETCO's move, local subsidiary Lanka IOC of the Indian Oil Corporation and Sinopec Energy Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of the Beijing-based oil and gas giant, have also adjusted their fuel prices accordingly.
