Sri Lanka's Board of Investment (BoI) has recently signed an agreement to develop a state-of-the-art cable car system in the country, providing locals and tourists with a unique and thrilling experience. 

The BoI announced the exciting news on its official Twitter page, stating, "Sri Lanka's First Cable Car Experience! Amber Adventure has entered into a partnership, worth 4.5 million US dollars, with the Ambuluwawa Bio Diversity Center. 

In addition, technical and product expertise will be provided by the renowned China Machine-Building International Corporation." The proposed cable car system aims to connect various parts of the island, offering breathtaking views of the country's stunning landscapes. 

While there have been previous plans for cable car projects in Sri Lanka, this agreement marks a significant step towards materializing the long-awaited endeavor. One such proposed cable car system was planned for the picturesque hill country town of Nuwara Eliya. 

In 2019, the project received initial clearance from Sri Lanka's cabinet of ministers, generating excitement among residents and potential visitors alike. 

However, the project did not progress beyond the initial stages. With the signing of this agreement, Sri Lanka is set to embark on an ambitious journey to introduce its first-ever cable car experience. 

The collaboration with Ambuluwawa Bio Diversity Center and the technical expertise from China Machine-Building International Corporation will ensure the successful implementation of this ambitious project. 

The cable car system is expected to attract both domestic and international tourists, offering them a unique way to explore Sri Lanka's natural beauty. 

The panoramic views that will be accessible through the cable cars are anticipated to become a major tourist attraction, further boosting the country's tourism industry. 

As the project moves forward, it is hoped that the cable car system will not only provide a thrilling adventure for visitors but also contribute to the development and promotion of sustainable tourism in Sri Lanka
