The twelve Fundamental Rights petitions, which involve former President Maithripala Sirisena and others being ordered to pay compensation to the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks, will be called again before a fuller bench of the Supreme Court on September 15.

This decision comes after requests were made by various parties involved in the petitions.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena, in a motion dated July 11, 2023, requested additional time to pay the remaining amount of Rs. 85 million as compensation to the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Supreme Court will address this matter during the upcoming hearing on September 15.
