Two more Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the abduction and murder of a fellow Chinese national at the Colombo Port City have been arrested in the Sigiriya area by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).

The incident took place on July 23, when a violent clash broke out among a group of Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises. During the incident, one of the Chinese nationals was allegedly abducted by another group.

The victim’s body was later found concealed in a forested area in Eheliyagoda.

Several suspects connected to the incident had already been arrested and remanded in custody following earlier police operations. Investigations were subsequently expanded to locate other suspects who had fled the area and gone into hiding.

Following further investigations, CCD officers arrested two more suspects who were found hiding in the Sigiriya area.

The two suspects are currently being detained by the Colombo Crimes Division and are being questioned over their alleged involvement in the abduction and murder.
