In light of the traffic congestion expected during the Kandy Esala Perahera, the Governor of the Central Province has announced a special holiday for all government schools within the Kandy town limits on 28, 29, and 31 August.
To compensate for the missed educational activities during this period, the affected schools will operate on Saturdays. This measure aims to ensure that students do not miss out on their studies despite the temporary closure.
