The Court of Appeal today (10) heard a writ petition filed by Sarvajana Balaya MP Dilith Jayaweera challenging a contempt of court reference made by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
Counsel appearing for Jayaweera argued that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had provided incomplete information regarding a television interview in which the MP had criticised the CID.
The Court directed that further hearing of the petition be held on September 14, when a related case is also scheduled to be heard
