Sri Lanka reached the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 final after defeating Pakistan by four wickets in the second semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium today.
Sri Lanka, the defending champions, restricted Pakistan to 130 for five in their allotted 20 overs after opting to field first, before chasing down the target with eight balls to spare.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana top-scored with an unbeaten 47 off 36 balls after her side found themselves in trouble early in the innings. Opener Shawal Zulfiqar contributed 24 runs.
Sri Lanka’s bowling attack remained disciplined throughout, with captain Chamari Athapaththu taking two wickets for 24 runs and Chamudi Praboda claiming two for 25.
Sri Lanka’s chase suffered an early setback as Fatima Sana produced an impressive spell, taking four wickets for 38 runs.
However, Harshitha Samarawickrama steadied the innings with a resilient 36 off 31 balls, while Kavisha Dilhari added a crucial 33. The pair put together a 50-run partnership to bring Sri Lanka back into contention.
Sri Lanka eventually reached 134 for six in 18.4 overs to secure a place in the final.
Sri Lanka will face India in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final on Sunday, September 13, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
