Seven passengers were injured after a van veered off the road and crashed into a high-voltage electricity pole on the Piliyandala–Kottawa Road.
The injured passengers were admitted to Kalubowila Hospital for treatment following the accident.
Police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the van to lose control and leave the road before colliding with the electricity pole.
