Sri Lanka Police has requested applicants who submitted online applications for Police Clearance Certificates on August 20 to submit new applications following a system failure.
The Police Media Division said the computerized Police Clearance data system became inactive at around 12:50 p.m. on August 20, affecting applications submitted on that day.
The system has now been restored, and online applications for Police Clearance Certificates can be submitted as usual.
However, applications submitted on August 20 were removed from the system following the technical failure. Applicants affected by the issue are therefore required to submit new applications.
The Police Clearance Certificate will be issued after the necessary reports are obtained for the new application.
Police said the Rs. 5,100 fee paid for the previous application will be refunded to the credit card used to make the payment.
