Representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are scheduled to visit Sri Lanka next month to conduct the seventh review of the country’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.

During the visit, the IMF delegation is expected to assess Sri Lanka’s progress under the programme and consider the release of the eighth tranche of the EFF.

The Ministry of Finance said that, following the successful completion of the review, Sri Lanka is expected to receive a loan installment of approximately US$330 million.

The latest disbursement under the IMF programme was made in July, when the sixth and seventh tranches were released together, amounting to approximately US$695 million.

The upcoming review will be closely watched as Sri Lanka continues implementing economic reforms and measures under the IMF-supported programme.
