Rooftop solar power systems generating more than 300 kilowatts will be switched off until Sunday (August 30), according to the Chairman of the National System Operator Limited (NSOL).
The decision comes amid efforts to manage the national electricity system and maintain grid stability, with the temporary shutdown affecting rooftop solar installations exceeding the 300kW generation threshold.
The NSOL Chairman said the measure would remain in effect until August 30, after which the situation will be reviewed based on prevailing power-system conditions.
Authorities have been monitoring the contribution of rooftop solar generation to the national grid as the country experiences changes in electricity demand and renewable power generation.
