The defence case in the trial over the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks, involving 23,270 charges against 24 accused, concluded on Monday.
The Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar has fixed September 9 for the submission of written arguments, with the verdict scheduled to be delivered on September 22.
The trial is being heard before a three-member High Court Trial-at-Bar comprising High Court Judges Navaratne Marasinghe, Sujeewa Nishshanka and Ramanathan Kannan.
Among the 24 accused is Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Naufar, alias Naufar Moulavi.
The case relates to the series of coordinated suicide bombings carried out on Easter Sunday in 2019, targeting churches and luxury hotels in Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa.
The attacks claimed the lives of more than 250 people and injured hundreds of others. The long-running trial involves allegations arising from the planning and facilitation of the attacks.
The court is expected to consider the written submissions before delivering its verdict on September 22.
