Sri Lanka has issued Red Notices through Interpol seeking the arrest and repatriation of 93 suspects allegedly linked to crimes committed in the country, Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wutler said.
He made the remarks at a press briefing held in Colombo on to brief the media on the contribution and progress of the tri-forces and the police under the “Ratama Ekata” national operation.
ASP Wutler also provided an update on the quantities of narcotics seized by police during the recent period.
According to the police, from October 30, 2025, up to August 12, 2026, authorities seized 2,259 kilograms and 129 grams of heroin, 2,653 kilograms and 545 grams of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), and 293 kilograms and 755 grams of cocaine.
He further said that, following the completion of judicial proceedings and other legal requirements, authorities have destroyed a total of 4,652 kilograms and 857 grams of dangerous narcotics seized during 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The police spokesperson said efforts are continuing to apprehend suspects involved in serious crimes who are believed to be hiding overseas, with international cooperation being sought through Interpol
