Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya met award-winning British actor and Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Ambassador Rosamund Pike at the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education on August 10.
The meeting focused on Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to clear landmines and explosive remnants of war, as the country enters the final stretch of its decades-long demining programme.
Pike, who serves as an ambassador for MAG, has been involved in raising international awareness of the humanitarian impact of landmines and supporting mine-clearance efforts.
The meeting highlighted Sri Lanka’s continued progress towards completing the clearance of areas affected by landmines and explosive remnants of war.
